My name is Dajuana LeDuff (W)aldron Moore.  I am a native of Erwinville, Louisiana. I am a grateful and proud mother of four beautiful daughters and one son. I have 6 grandchildren who are my world, and I love them so much. We enjoy spending family time together. Over the past 30 years,  I've had the privilege of residing and raising my beautiful family in both East Baton Rouge and Ascension Parishes.

 

My journey in understanding law and the importance of how it impacts started with my experiences in various industries. It was 2003 that I was commissioned as a Notary Public for the Parish of Ascension with jurisdiction in the surrounding areas until 2019 where I obtained Statewide Jurisdiction as a Notary commissioned in East Baton Rouge Parish. I am a former board member, current member of LA Notary Association, and the National Notary Association.

 

I am the successful owner of Notary and Auto Title of South Baton Rouge, known for my dedication and service to this community by offering services that are fair, honest, and respectful to all. Prior to becoming a full-time Notary, I worked in both the financial and administrative capacity in the Healthcare industry and the Auto Insurance industry in the total loss department. My role as a Notary Public in my independent practice involved contracting with preowned car dealerships and notarizing title transfer documents.  This was until the impact of natural disasters of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and then Gustav that changed my life as well as the lives of many of our citizens in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

While looking for additional opportunities, I applied with Notary of South Baton Rouge and Auto Title of Baton Rouge which was also the office of the Justice of the Peace for Ward 3 District 3. I began working with and was afforded the opportunity to be mentored by the Honorable, Melva Cavanaugh, JP.  In October of 2008, I became Judge Cavanaugh’s Deputy Clerk of Court until 2011 and went on to be Judge Cavanaugh’s Clerk of Court until her passing in March of 2013. I continued as Clerk of Court until 2015.  In 2012,  I purchased Judge Cavanaugh’s Notary and Auto Title businesses.  Having had the opportunity to be mentored by Justice of the Peace, Melva Cavanaugh turned out to be the best thing to happen in my career.  Judge Cavanaugh taught me so much about understanding and applying Civil Law and the inner workings of the Judiciary.  As it relates to the law there is no wavering.  Decisions must be based on honesty and integrity.  I’ve learned that accessibility, keeping good public records, being compassionate and trustworthy gains me the respect from my community and the people I serve.

My experience as Clerk of Court for Justice of the Peace, Melva Cavanaugh, and my years of experience as a Notary Public and business owner in the community of Ward 3, District 3 has prepared me for the upcoming Justice of the Peace position.
